who's the culprit of a 3-hour traffic jam?
it was this huge tree which decided to fall entirely across the two-laned road at an untimely hour.
i was just less than a bus stop to school when all vehicles along the same direction came to a halt. after several minutes, the bus was still motionless. the sight of several motorbikes u-turning signalled that it's a dead end ahead so i knew i had to alight. did not expected there to be a fallen tree ahead until i witnessed it, and i immediately smsed rena to ask her to alight if she's just a few stops away. true enough, her bus was just two stops away lol.
when my lecture ended at about 3 hours later, the jam finally started to subside. all the empty buses which were stranded opposite in bee-line, were finally crawling away one after another. imagine 10 of the same number buses could be easily counted along the road! which was pretty much why there was hardly any sight of buses coming to the stop i was going home, except for those sardine-packed smrt buses strangely. rena and i intelligently crossed to the opposite, hopped onto a bus and took the train home instead. haha. if not, i reckon it would take ages for our buses to come since those buses opposite were just making their way to the terminal.
anyway, the driver who escaped unscathed when his car was like almost camoflaged among the branches and leaves of the fallen tree was so fortunate! my mom was fortunate too, a coconut tree fell just a few steps behind her during her childhood kampong days!!
on the way home,
rena: what's the cause of the fallen tree?
me: umm prolly struck by the lightning?
rena: nah, it's monday. monday blues. hahaha..
